Unit 3, People And The Environment. (Earthquake)

Today, we always heard or watch about many kind of disaster and the famous is earthquakes. Earthquakes happend in saveral contries. Ancient people such as in Norse Mythology believe earthquakes were explained as the violent struggling of the god Loki while in Greek Mythology, Poseidon was the god of earthquakes. The real difination about earthquakes acctually is a result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. We can recorded it with a seismometer. On the Earth's surface, earthquakes manifeist themselves by a shaking and sometimes suffer suffiicient displacement to cause a tsunami. The shaking in earthquakes can also trigger landslides and occasionally volcanic activity. Earthquakes can cause many bad accident and large damage. Some people lost their beloved after earthquakes. As a Malaysian we must thanked to god because our country not effected by earthquakes.
