Unit 8 : Cities Of The World








Do you know about Sabah? Let me tell you...
SABAH, which is also know as "LAND BELOW THE WIND", is great place to visit if you to indulge in nature's delights. With its majestic mountains, undersea wonders, lush rainforest, colourful people and unique cultures, the state is eat to woo and win the hearts of my travellers. Sabah, the second largerst state in Malaysia is situated at the northern part of the island of Borneo, the third largerst island in the world.Sabah is botanical paradise. The world's largerst flower, Refflesia whose huge red bloom c
an grow up to metre in diameter is found in Sabah. There is the majestic Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Southeast Asia towering 4101 metres.

Sabah is also endowed with a hetergenous population. The indigenous population are made up of some 30 groups using more than 50 indigenous languages and not less than 80 dialects. The main ethnic group who make up nearly one third of population, the Murut, The Paitan and the Bajau. The largest ethnic group is the Dusun/Kadazan.

There are many festivals is celebrated, given the ethnic diversity here. The people celebrete throught music, dance and food that are uniquely their own. among the festivals are the Regatta Lepa Semporna (April), Pesta Kaamatan (May), Pesta Rumbia (July), Pesta Kelapa (September) and Pesta Jagung (Oktober).
There are many lovely places in Sabah. I'm very proud of my city and I love it very much....If you want to know more about Sabah, just come visit Sabah........ :)

There are many intereting things in Sabah. I'm interested in Refflesia Flower which is the world's largerst flower. Can you tell us about this Refflesia futher?
